Hurricane season is approaching so now is a great time to start your preparations. There are both long-term and short-term preparation tips.
Below are a few tips that can help prevent damage to your property:
• Monitor forecasts closely to help you know when to act.
• Inspect roof and any mounted signs, equipment, guy wires and supports to verify they’re anchored and in good repair.
• Repair or replace weak or damaged windows, doors, shutters, etc.
• Store water damageable materials and stock on pallets or racks.
• Identify a safe place to store vehicles and equipment.
• Establish an emergency response team; assemble supplies and equipment at a secure location, such as pumps, hoses, emergency lighting, sandbags, etc.
• Secure outside equipment and materials such as propane tanks, gas cylinders, other hazardous materials, etc.
Hopefully some of these suggestions will help you. As always, if you have any questions, please give me a call.
