Excitement Builds for SCRS’ SEMA RDE Series
by Alana Quartuccio
SEMA week is just around the corner and excitement is building for the Society of Collision Repairer Specialists’ (SCRS) Repairer Driven Education (RDE) series set to take place November 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
SCRS’ popular educational series is a driving force for collision repairers to make the trip to Vegas. They know hands down that it’s the best opportunity to learn from the industry’s most insightful minds. Once again, the RDE series will feature some of the most recognizable faces around like Mike Anderson (Collision Advice), Ryan Taylor (Body Shop Booster) and Danny Gredinberg (Database Enhancement Gateway).
Misclassifying mechanical operations on repair plans can negatively impact profitability. Anderson, who is one of if not the most popular speakers around, will tackle this critical subject matter with “Capturing Mechanical Labor: Being Intentional About the Opportunity.”
Gredinberg will team up with fellow veteran RDE speaker Andrew Batenhorst (Pacific Collision Center; CA) to present “Stop Guessing, Start Earning: Building Bulletproof Repair Plans” a workshop designed to help repairers close the gap between a basic estimate and a repair plan.
Rachel James (Torque Financial) made her RDE debut last year and returns this year to help shop owners understand how to “Run Your Collision Business Like a Fortune 100 Company.”
Collision Advice’s Tracy Dombrowski and Maria Quintero (Body Builders Automotive) will team up again this year to help guide repair professionals on how to better understand their numbers with “Financial Success Starts with a Plan: Turning Numbers into Action.”
SCRS is also proud to welcome many new faces to the RDE series this year.
Steve Dawson (Hunter Engineering) makes his RDE Series debut hosting a panel discussion featuring shop owners who have successfully integrated mechanical operations into their collision repair businesses. Discussion will explore how bringing mechanical work in house can create new revenue opportunities.
Industry attorney Sean Preston (Coverall Law) makes his debut with “The Three Daily Mistakes Repair Shops Make That Empower Insurers” where he will explore how routine shop practices can inadvertently give insurers leverage in negotiations.
Preston and Quintero will also be among a slew of featured presenters in the one-of-a-kind IDEAS Collide Showcase – a popular segment in the series well known for its “Ted talk” inspired thought-provoking ideas. Preston will deliver “The Law of Reasonable Pricing: Why Shops Must Be Paid and Customers Must Be Reimbursed.” Quintero will share “Technician Roadmap: Financial Awareness Leads to Technician Excellence.”
IDEAS Collide will also feature: Ryan Taylor (BodyShop Booster) who will present “The Body Shop That Works While You Don’t,” Joel Adcock (REVV) will bring “The Scan is Not the Story: Closing the Gap Between Diagnostics and Calibration,” OPUS IVS’ Brian Herron will talk about “Growing Your Business,” Justin Allen (Hunter Engineering) who will answer the question “What Will You Do When the Cars Stop Crashing?” and Daniel Burkholder (BodyShop Marketing) who will ask “The AI Takeover: Is Your Shop Ready to Be Found?”
Closing out the series will be the OEM Summit featuring three presentations devoted to highlighting the latest and greatest developments in vehicle manufacturing and repairability.
